The Lake Superior State Lakers are a men's and women's basketball team representing Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The Lakers compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and have a rich history of success on the court. The team's colors are green and gold, and their mascot is Seamore the Seaduck. The Lakers play their home games at the Bud Cooper Gymnasium, which has a seating capacity of 2,500. The team has won multiple GLIAC championships and has made several appearances in the NCAA Division II tournament. The Lakers are known for their fast-paced, high-scoring style of play and their passionate fan base. The team is led by head coach Steve Hettinga, who has been with the program since 2013.
