Founded in 2015, It plays in the Cambodian Premier League, the top tier of Cambodian football. The club is owned by businessman Akihiro Kato.

Angkor Tiger was established in 2015, represents the city of Siem Reap, globally famous for the Angkor Wat temple.
In August 2023, Indian holding company SkaSports acquired minority stakes in the club.
