Wikipedia - North-West University

The North-West University (NWU) is a public research university located on three campuses in Potchefstroom, Mahikeng and Vanderbijlpark in South Africa. The university came into existence through the merger of the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, a large, historical university dating back to 1869, which also had a branch in Vanderbijlpark, and the University of North-West (formerly the University of Bophuthatswana) in 2004. With its merged status, the North-West University became one of the largest universities in South Africa with the third largest student population (full-time and distance education) in the country.

The FNB NWU Eagles are a rugby union team based in Potchefstroom, South Africa. They represent the North-West University and compete in the Varsity Cup, which is a premier university rugby competition in South Africa. The team is known for their strong and physical style of play, with a focus on dominating the set pieces and playing an expansive attacking game. The FNB NWU Eagles have a proud history of success, having won the Varsity Cup in 2016 and finishing as runners-up in 2019. The team is made up of talented young players who are passionate about rugby and committed to representing their university with pride and determination.
